Seeing as it's a nice VK day, I did a little reading up on jellyfish. They sting when they come into contact with chemicals on our skin, therefore lycra clothing will protect us mere humans. The best treatment is white vinegar, which, of course, I hope to have handy :) Fresh water can increase the stinging, but salt water won't. It usually takes about 1-2 hours for the pain to subside and up to 2 weeks for the scars. And of course, the best protection is not to fall in the water, though I've have several encounters while sailing.

Picle Juice will also kill the burn if you have some.. I usually just pee on the area... never failed ;) seriously..
